The Origin of Helium-Rich Subdwarf O Stars
The origin of helium-rich subdwarf O stars (He-sdO) is still unclear. Significant progress has been made recently in placing them in the Hertzsprung–Russell diagram. However, the question of their progenitors is still unsolved. It is unclear which types of stars evolve into He-sdOs and whether they are formed by all galactic populations. Here I will present results of a radial velocity (RV) sur...
متن کاملAn evolutionary study of the pulsating subdwarf B eclipsing binary PG 1336−018 (NY Vir)
Context. The formation of subdwarf B (sdB) stars is not well understood within the current framework of stellar single and binary evolution. Aims. In this study, we focus on the formation and evolution of the pulsating sdB star in the very short-period eclipsing binary PG 1336−018. We aim at refining the formation scenario of this unique system, so that it can be confronted with observations. M...
متن کاملFull evolutionary models for PG 1159 stars . Implications for the helium - rich O ( He ) stars .
Aims. We present full evolutionary calculations appropriate to post-AGB PG1159 stars for a wide range of stellar masses. Methods. We take into account the complete evolutionary stages of PG1159 progenitors starting from the Zero Age Main Sequence. We consider the two kinds of Born Again Scenarios, the very late thermal pulse (VLTP) and the late thermal pulse (LTP), that give rise to hydrogen-de...
متن کاملUSING PG ELEMENTS FOR SOLVING FREDHOLM INTEGRO-DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS
In this paper, we use Petrov-Galerkin elements such as continuous and discontinuous Lagrange-type k-0 elements and Hermite-type 3-1 elements to find an approximate solution for linear Fredholm integro-differential equations on $[0,1]$. Also we show the efficiency of this method by some numerical examples
متن کاملClose Binary Ehb Stars from Spy * † ‡
We present the results of a radial velocity (RV) survey of 46 subdwarf B (sdB) and 23 helium-rich subdwarf O (He-sdO) stars. We detected 18 (39%) new sdB binary systems, but only one (4%) He-sdO binary. Orbital parameters of nine sdB and sdO binaries, derived from follow-up spectroscopy, are presented. Our results are compared with evolutionary scenarios and previous observational investigations.
